Near West Police District Hosting Sex Assault Awareness Meeting Tuesday

NEAR WEST SIDE — In an effort to educate residents about sexual assault, the Near West Police District will host a meeting for the community Tuesday.

The district's domestic violence subcommittee will host a presentation on sexual assault from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday in the community room at the district police station, 1412 S. Blue Island Ave.

The meeting is presented in partnership with the district's CAPS leaders.

1233 CAPS meeting 

Residents living in the district's 1233 police beat are encouraged to attend a local CAPS meeting Tuesday night.

The meeting, also to be held at the police station, will kick off at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Residents will have the opportunity to talk with police officers about suspicious activity and discuss any ongoing neighborhood issues.
