CHICAGO — Two separate shootings just minutes apart on the South Side hospitalized three men Friday afternoon, officials said.

Around 4:20 p.m., two men were shot while standing together in the 6800 block of South Justine Street in Englewood, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

A 57-year-old man was taken to Christ Hospital in stable condition after being shot in his leg. An 18-year-old man was listed in serious-to-critical condition at Christ after being shot in his chest, Lemmon said.

About five minutes earlier, a 42-year-old man was shot in his right thigh while sitting in his car in the 7300 block of South Phillips Avenue in South Shore, Lemmon said.

The man was sitting in his car around 4:15 p.m. when two men approached and one of them opened fire before fleeing, Lemmon said.

No one is in custody for the shootings.
