MOUNT GREENWOOD — Junior theater students at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School have enlisted the help of a federal prosecutor.

The students at the all-girls Catholic high school aren't pursuing a criminal. Rather, they were preparing for their upcoming performance of "Twelve Angry Women."

This drama tells story of 12 jury members who are part of a trial for a 19-year-old boy accused of fatally stabbing his father. Performances will take place at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the school's auditorium at 3737 W. 99th St. in Mount Greenwood.

To help the students better understand their roles as jurors, McAuley alumna Kate Kelly met with the class to share her experience as a federal prosecutor.

Kelly detailed the role of a jury, explained that it often takes a case years before going to trial and talked about other nuances of her career. Kelly also shared personal stories about cases on which she's worked and opened the floor up for questions from the students.

As fate would have it, Kelly played Juror 4 in a production of "Twelve Angry Women" when she was a student. She graduated in 1986.

Tickets to the show cost $5 and may be bought at the door. For more information, call McAuley at 773-881-6512 or visit the school's website.
