CHICAGO — At least eight people were wounded in shootings since Tuesday morning including three people — one fatally — shot in an Avalon Park home invasion Tuesday afternoon.

The home invasion in the 8000 block of South Dante Avenue around 1:20 p.m. sent a 24-year-old man, 28-year-old man and 20-year-old man to the hospital, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The 28-year-old man was taken to Stroger in critical condition after being shot multiple times. Hours later he was pronounced dead, Pacheco said.

He was identified as Antinino Walker, of the 6500 block of South Champlain Avenue. He was pronounced dead at 9:17 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The 24-year-old was shot in his neck and taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in good condition. The 20-year-old was in good condition at Jackson Park Hospital after being shot in his arm, Pacheco said.

Further details about the home invasion were not available.

About 15 hours later and just a few blocks away, a 34-year-old woman was shot in her leg while walking in the 8600 block of South Stony Island Avenue. She told police she heard gunshots before feeling a sharp pain, Pacheco said.

The woman was able to drove herself to Jackson Park Hospital, where she was treated and released, Pacheco said.

Around 10:40 p.m., a 22-year-old man was walking in the 700 block of West 73rd Street in Englewood when someone driving a gray SUV pulled alongside him and shouted gang slogans before getting out of the car and opening fire, Pacheco said.

The man, who is a documented gang member, was taken to Advocate Christ Hospital in good condition after being grazed in his chin, Pacheco said.

About five hours earlier, a 19-year-old was shot in his left leg in Garfield Park. The man was standing on a porch in the 4000 block of West Wilcox Street around 5:30 p.m. when someone shot him, Pacheco said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and listed in good condition, Pacheco said.

A 47-year-old man was shot in his shoulder while walking in the 5400 block of West Madison Street in Austin about three hours prior. The shooting happened around 2:11 p.m. and left the man in good condition at West Suburban Hospital, Pacheco said.

Around 12:30 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in his calf during a possible drive-by shooting in the 700 block of South Albany Avenue in Garfield Park, Pacheco said.

The man, who is documented gang member, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, police said.
