COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — An elderly woman was robbed in a McDonald's bathroom when someone in the next stall reached over with what appeared to be a gun, prosecutors said Monday.

Sharon Scott, 46, was arrested this week and charged with armed robbery after police identified her through surveillance footage.

The attack happened on Jan. 25 shortly after an 88-year-old woman walked into a bathroom stall at a South Chicago McDonald's, 2425 E. 79th St., according to police and prosecutors.

Scott reached under the stall with a sharp object, which the victim believed to be a gun, prosecutors said during a bond hearing Monday.

When Scott told the woman she'd shoot, prosecutors said, the victim passed over her wallet. Scott took $55 cash and was captured on McDonald's surveillance footage entering and leaving the bathroom near the time of the attack, prosecutors said.

Scott was arrested Sunday morning at her home in the 2600 block of East 76th Street, according to a police report.

Cook County Judge Donald Panarese Jr. ordered her on Monday held in lieu of $90,000 bail.
