CHICAGO — Two people were shot on the South Side overnight, including a 23-year-old man shot in Englewood an hour before midnight.

Around 11:06 p.m., the 23-year-old man was walking in an alley in the 1000 block of West Marquette Road when he was approached by three men, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

One of the three men opened fire, possibly with a pellet gun, and the 23-year-old was struck in his forehead. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Pacheco said.

Around 12:37 a.m., a 28-year-old woman was walking with a man in the 2700 block of West 55th Street in Gage Park when a man approached and opened fire, Pacheco said.

The woman was taken by family to Holy Cross Hospital, where she was listed in good condition after being grazed in her right ear, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for either shooting.
