Graffiti Found in a Beverly Alley Includes Swastikas

BEVERLY — Graffiti, including swastikas, surfaced in an alley known for drinking in Beverly on Monday.

Someone drew the swastikas on several garbage cans in the 10400 block of South Claremont Avenue. "I (heart) the devil" was also written on a garbage cans, according to police.

The incident is believed to have taken place sometime between 10:45 p.m. on Sunday and 1:30 p.m. on Monday, according to police.

A homeowner nearby told police that people often congregate in the alley to drink when the weather is nice.

Graffiti was also found in a nearby alley in the 10400 block of South Oakley Avenue in Beverly. Etched into a garage was the words "Death will come to ..." The vandal included a name, though police did not release it.

It's believed that the graffiti on Oakley Avenue surfaced sometime between 8:15 p.m. on Friday and 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
