Edgewater Shooting Leaves Two Wounded, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two men were wounded, one critically, in a shooting early Wednesday in Edgewater, police said.

At 12:05 a.m., two men ages 22 and 25 were walking on the sidewalk in the 5800 block of North Kenmore Avenue when they were approached by four men, one of whom opened fire, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The 25-year-old was shot multiple times and taken to Saint Francis Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The 22-year-old was shot in his leg and also taken to Saint Francis Hospital where his condition had stabilized, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody, and police are investigating.
