CHICAGO — Two people were injured, including a teenager, in shootings on the South and West sides Friday night, police said.

In Austin at 8:45 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was standing in the hallway of an apartment complex in the 4800 block of West Adams Street, when someone walked in and fired shots, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

The teen was shot in both of his arms and lower portion of his left leg, Estrada said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. Police did not know his condition, but said it had stabilized.

Police said the incident appears to be gang related.

At 6:50 p.m. in Calumet Heights, a 24-year-old man was standing near a bus stop in the 9300 block of South Colfax Avenue when he was shot in his leg. He was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody, and Area South detectives are investigating.
