CHICAGO — Two men were wounded, one critically, in a shooting Monday in West Englewood, police said.

At 4:45 p.m., two men were sitting in a car in the 5700 block of South Hermitage Avenue, when a car drove up and someone inside fired shots before fleeing, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman.

A 32-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Sweeney said.

A 37-year-old man was shot in his right shoulder and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. His condition was not immediately available.

Police said both men were documented gang members.

No one is in custody, and police are investigating.
