
CHICAGO — A police raid in Uptown last week resulted in 21 arrests, police said in a statement.
In a joint effort between the Chicago Police department's Bureau of Organized Crime, Gang Investigation Division and the Chicago FBI's Joint Task Force on Gangs conducted the raid, called "Operation Tangled Web."
The investigation included the use of wiretapping of a group that police charged did $2.5 million in drug-trafficking on the North Side, The Black P-Stones.
During the raid 21 people were arrested and charged, including the alleged leaders Craig Johnson and Henry Wiggins, police said.
The operation had ties reaching Evanston and Skokie, police said.
The Cook County State's Attorney's office issued warrants for arrest on charges including calculated criminal drug conspiracy, which carries with it up to a 30-year sentence, police said.
