U. of C. Folk Fest Kicks off Friday

HYDE PARK — The University of Chicago Folk Festival kicks off Friday with performances from Patt and Possum, Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton, John Lilly and others.

The annual folk festival will run through Sunday at Mandel Hall, 1131 E. 57th St., on the University of Chicago campus. It will include workshops during the day on Saturday and Sunday.

The schedule includes:

8 p.m. Friday:

• Gráinne Murphy and Marta Cook

• Patt & Possum

• Kody Norris and The Wautauga Mountain Boys

• Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton

• John Lilly

Tickets are $25, $20 for seniors, $10 for students

7:30 p.m. Saturday:

• The Buckstankle Boys

• Gráinne Murphy and Marta Cook

• Mississippi Gabe Carter

• Kody Norris and the Wautauga Mountain Boys

• Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton

Tickets are $30, $25 for seniors, $10 for students

7:30 p.m. Sunday:

• Patt and Possum

• John Lilly

• The Buckstankle Boys

• Joe Gurovski

• Mississippi Gabe Carter

Tickets are $20, $15 for seniors, $10 for students

Doors open a half hour before each performance. Tickets are available by calling the box office at 773-703-7300 or online at ticketsweb.uchicago.edu.
