Robbers Targeted Victims in Austin, Police Say

CHICAGO — Robbers have hit the Austin neighborhood in recent weeks, according to police.

In a community alert released Tuesday, police said thieves were approaching victims, demanding their property, and then taking the items. In one case, the thieves implied they had a gun.

The robberies occurred in about 6:45 p.m. Jan. 26 in the 4600 block of West North Avenue; about 4:15 p.m. Jan. 26 in the 1500 block of North Kolin Avenue; and about 11:45 a.m. Jan. 15 in the 5000 block of West North Avenue, police said.
