LOOP — The Chicago Loop Alliance is throwing more alley parties Downtown this year. It just needs art.

The local business group seeks pop-up exhibits for its second season of ACTIVATE, "an expansive series of innovative public space activations" melding the arts and public together in Downtown alleys, the Loop Alliance said Monday.

The Loop Alliance has hosted seven ACTIVATE events since launching the program in 2013. More than 140 artists participated in last year's run, which delivered nearly $400,000 in estimated economic impact, the Loop Alliance said Monday.

This year's series will feature one Loop alley event a month from May to October. Artists of all stripes, including sculptors, architects, muralists and fashion designers are encouraged to apply. A Loop Alliance spokeswoman said the six alleys that will be used for events have not yet been determined.

Artist applications are due by 11:59 p.m. March 27. Visit the Loop Alliance's website for more information.
