Man Found Shot to Death in South Chicago

CHICAGO — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in South Chicago Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 8100 block of South Chappel Avenue about 11:15 a.m., said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman, citing preliminary information.

There they found a man lying unresponsive in alley, she said. He was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Savoy Young, 22, of the 8200 block of South Luella Avenue. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:38 a.m.

No one is in custody and Area South detectives are investigating.
