CHICAGO — Two men were wounded in separate shootings on the South and West sides, police said.

At 10:10 p.m. in West Englewood, an 18-year-old man was getting out of a vehicle when in the 7300 block of South Winchester Ave., when he heard shots and felt pain, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

He was shot in his hand and taken to Holy Cross Hospital by a family member, Sedevic said.

At 7:05 p.m. on the Near West Side, a 21-year-old man was walking in the 2400 block of West Taylor Street when he was approached by a man who opened fire, striking the 21-year-old in his leg, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Sedevic said.

No one is in custody in either shooting, and police are investigating.
