DOWNTOWN — Firecakes Donuts is taking its baked goods to the streets with a new food truck that will circle Downtown.

The award-winning bakery at 68 W. Hubbard St. unveiled the doughnut truck Thursday morning and will post updates about its daily stops on Twitter.

Now a permanent Loop presence, the truck will serve signature and seasonal Firecakes doughnuts including Maple Glazed Pineapple & Bacon, Butterscotch Praline, and Lemon Meringue flavors. The truck will run daily beginning at 7 a.m.

Firecakes' Tahitian vanilla glazed doughnut won the judges' choice award at Chicago's 2014 Donut Fest
