RAVENSWOOD — Indie Wed may get bigger every year — it's doubled in size since its inaugural outing in 2010 — but the focus of the alternative bridal fair is still on the small stuff.

While the list of the more than 100 vendors participating in Saturday's Indie Wed includes a recognizable name or two — hello, Publican — the vast majority of business participating in Indie Wed remain scrappy upstarts.

The fair, which runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Ravenswood Event Center, bills itself as the place where independent-minded brides and grooms can meet independent business owners and artisans.

That loose definition covers everything from engaged couples who want their invitations printed on recycled paper to the pair looking for someone to help them pull off a "Portlandia" theme.

The goods and services on display (and some even for sale) include photographers, bakers, jewelry and clothing designers, graphic artists, caterers, florists, makeup artists, musicians and even wedding officiants.

Tickets to Indie Wed are available online until noon Friday. Cost is $15 per individual ticket or $25 for a two-pack when purchased in advance. Tickets are $20 each, cash only, at the door, 4043 N. Ravenswood Ave.
