City to Begin Repaving 300 Miles of Major Streets

CHICAGO — The City of Chicago has already identified about 10 miles of streets it will repave first this year.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel has promised to repair 300 miles of streets annually.

The following streets have been chosen to be repaved first:

• About 2.3 miles of 115th Street from Vincennes Avenue to State Street

• About 2 miles of Martin Luther King Junior Drive from Cermak Road to 37th Street

• About 1.6 miles of Wentworth Avenue from Pershing Road to the Stevenson Expy.

• About 2.1 miles on Cicero Avenue from Division Street to the Eisenhower Expy.

• About 1.3 miles on Irving Park Road from Cumberland Avenue to Forest Preserve Avenue

• About 1 mile on Douglas Boulevard from Independence Boulevard to Sacramento Drive
