CHICAGO — A woman was hurt in a North Park car crash early Sunday, police said.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. in the 3800 block of West Foster Avenue, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

A 22-year-old man was driving a 1997 Honda Civic eastbound on Foster Avenue when he "sideswiped" the woman's car and then proceeded to crash into a CTA bus stop shelter before rolling over, Pacheco said.

The woman was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital. Police did not release her condition, but said it had stabilized. A man, who was also in the car that was hit, was not taken to the hospital, Pacheco said.

No one was at the bus stop during the crash, Pacheco said.

The driver of the car was cited for failure to stay in his lane and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said.
