CHICAGO — Four Chicago police officers were hospitalized after their squad cars crashed with a stolen car they were chasing in Little Village early Sunday, police said.

The crash happened around 3:35 a.m. in the 2600 block of South California Boulevard, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

Officers from the Ogden District were responding to a call of a stolen car when their squad cars smashed into the stolen car in the intersection, Pacheco said.

The stolen car also hit another police car — not involved in the chase — in the 3100 block of South California Boulevard, she said.

Two of the officers were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, while the other two were taken to Stroger Hospital. All have non-life-threatening injures, Pacheco said.

Police said two people are in custody and charges are pending against the driver of the stolen vehicle.
