CHICAGO — A man who robbed a FedEx delivery driver at gunpoint in Englewood Thursday morning also stole the driver's truck — only to ditch it in an alley a few blocks away, police said.

At 9:58 a.m., the driver was robbed at gunpoint in the 7000 block of South Peoria Street, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago police spokesman.

The robber then stole the driver's truck. Chicago police officers found the unoccupied truck in an alley a few blocks away from the scene of the robbery, Estrada said.

The driver was not hurt, Estrada said, adding that police are still trying to determine what was taken during the robbery by "taking inventory of the truck to see if any packages were stolen."

Police said no one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.
