UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — A UIC student was robbed at gunpoint off-campus Friday morning, according to University Police.

The student was robbed near West Polk and Aberdeen streets at about 9:30 a.m. Friday.

The victim was walking east on Polk when an unknown male approached from the front, displayed a handgun and demanded her possessions, according to a police report. The victim said an accomplice helping the male was positioned behind her, police said.

The victim surrendered her mobile phone and cash from her wallet. The suspects fled westbound on Polk and remain at large.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 6-feet tall, 160 pounds, with brown eyes, of dark complexion and wearing a black ski mask, black-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was carrying a snub-nose revolver with a brown handle, according to police.
