CHICAGO — A Chicago police officer accidentally shot himself in his leg in Englewood Friday evening, police said.
Around 6:30 p.m., the officer was conducting an investigation in the 5700 block of South Peoria Street when he accidentally shot himself in his foot, according to Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman.
He was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, Sweeney said.
Pat Camden, a spokesman for the Fraternal Order of Police, did not know the circumstances leading to the incident.
