CHICAGO— The Chicago Police Department is warning residents to be aware after a series of strongarm robberies in Uptown and Wrigleyville.

In three separate incidents, the offenders approached the victims, pushed or hit them and then stole their purse or wallet, the police statement said.

The most recent incident occurred Thursday at 1:45 a.m. in the 900 block of West Waveland Avenue in Wrigleyville. The previous incidents both occurred in Uptown on Jan. 4: at 2 a.m. in the 4500 block of North Broadway Avenue and at 6:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Buena Avenue.

In the Uptown incidents, the offenders are described as two black men, 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, and the other, 5-foot-5, 130 pounds.

The suspects in the Waveland Avenue incident are described as a black man, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet, 150 to 170 pounds, wearing a black jacket; the other is 5-foot-7 to 6-feet tall, weighing 150 to 170 pounds. Police did not release any more details about the second suspect.
