HYDE PARK — The Harold Washington Park Advisory Council will hold its first official meeting on Jan. 5.

The advisory council for the park at 53rd Street and South Hyde Park Boulevard was officially approved by the Chicago Park District on Dec. 8.

President Thomas Allen will call the first official meeting of his term to session at 7 p.m. at the Del Prado Apartments, 5307 S. Hyde Park Blvd.

One of the council’s major concerns is the model yacht basin at the northeastern corner of the park.

Advisory council meetings are regularly held on the first Monday of the month.
