Man Killed in Domestic-Related North Lawndale Shooting Identified

CHICAGO — Two men were shot, one fatally, in a domestic-related incident Thursday evening in North Lawndale, police said.

The shooting occurred about 6:05 p.m. in the 1900 block of South Trumbull Avenue, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

A 52-year-old man was shot in his body and leg, while a 42-year-old man was shot in his right leg. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where the older man died.

Family members told police that a male relative fled the scene in a blue car.

The 52-year-old man was identified as Dennis Jones, 52, of the 4900 block of West Augusta Boulevard, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. 

He was pronounced dead at 8:22 p.m., according to the morgue.
