CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was killed early Tuesday in a shootout in East Garfield Park.
Around 2:20 a.m., the man was in a shootout with another man in the 500 block of South Central Boulevard when he was hit in the shoulder and left leg, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Sedevic said.
A gun was recovered from the scene. No one is in custody, Sedevic said.
