Yo-Yo Ma and Civic Orchestra to Perform Free Concert at Lane Tech

ROSCOE VILLAGE — The chance to see Yo-Yo Ma in concert? Priceless. The price to see Yo-Yo Ma in concert at Lane Tech College Prep High School? Free.

Ma and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago will take to the stage at Lane Tech, 7-10 p.m. Jan. 12 for a free open rehearsal, part of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Citizen Musician initiative, which brings classical music into Chicago's neighborhoods.

The evening includes a question-and-answer session with the musicians.

Lane Tech students and staff received first dibs on tickets. Members of the general public can now reserve a seat by calling the CSO's box office, 312-294-3000.

The Civic Orchestra is a training program for emerging professional musicians.
