CHICAGO — Two teens were wounded in separate shootings in Lawndale Monday evening, police said.
Around 5:10 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was standing on the sidewalk in the 4000 block of West Roosevelt Road when a car approached and a man hopped out and opened fire, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition after being shot in his ankle, Sedevic said.
Less than two hours earlier, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the 3000 block of West Roosevelt Road.
Around 3:30 p.m., the teen was standing outside where he heard a loud argument before gun shots, Sedevic said.
The boy was struck in his leg and listed in good condition at Stroger Hospital, Sedevic said.
No one is in custody for either shooting.
