PORTAGE PARK — A holiday party set for Friday wil raise money for a Portage Park mother of two diagnosed in October with stage four lung cancer.

Meryldine Domenz-Bigosinska, whose daughter attends kindergarten at St. John's Lutheran Church and School, was diagnosed with cancer after experiencing a few days of blurry vision. She never smoked.

The cancer metastasized to her lymph nodes, brain and eyes, according to a fundraising website set up by friends and family members designed to raise $100,000 for her treatment.

Moms for Meryldine, a group of St. John's parents, will host a holiday party to add to the more than $27,000 already raised for her treatment and care, organizers said.

Tickets to the party at Black Rock Pub and Kitchen, 3614 N. Damen Ave., are $50. The party, which starts at 6 p.m., includes an open bar, heavy appetizers, a silent auction, raffle and a visit from Santa.
