WICKER PARK — Planning to wear an ugly holiday sweater this weekend? Nearly 30 local shops, bars and salons in Wicker Park and Bucktown are offering a way for you to win prizes just for snapping a selfie.

Organized by The Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce, the Ugly Sweater Selfie Contest begins on Friday and ends at 11:59 p.m. Saturday.

The contest is simple: Just find the nearest "selfie station" and snap a photo of yourself in front of an Ugly Sweater Selfie backdrop. Then, put the photo on Instagram, geotag the business you are in, hashtag the contest handle #UglySweaterWPB and tag @WPBCC.

About a week after the contest, the chamber will determine three winners, who will enjoy three categories of prize packages: the WPB Stay-cation, Winter Warrior and Love Yourselfie.

A Timbuk2 bag, a weekend stay at the Wicker Park Inn, a local bed and breakfast, a Ventra pass, gift certificates to Pint Pub, dinner at Club Lucky, tickets to a show at the Double Door, and massages are among the several prizes. View the full list here.

Some of the places where you can snap selfies include newcomer Vintage Charm, 1735 N. Damen Ave.; Doggie Style Pet Shop, 2023 W. Division St.; The Boundary, 1932 W. Division St.; Jackson June Gallery, 1389 N. Milwaukee Ave.; and Tree House Humane Society, 1629 N. Ashland Ave.

Not sure you want to pose all by yourself? Tree House Humane Society will be offering the chance to pose with one of the shelter's rescue cats.

Instagram users will be encouraged to share their photo and the cat's name to help give a homeless cat a home for the holidays this year.
