NORTH CENTER — Ever wonder what happens to the people who wind up on Santa's naughty list?
Meet Krampus.
St. Nick's devilish counterpart, Krampus, charged with punishing the wicked, has long been part of Europeans' Christmas celebrations but never quite caught on in the United States.
The folks at Martyrs', 3855 N. Lincoln Ave., are part of a stateside Krampus revival movement, hosting their second annual Krampusfest on Sunday, because sometimes it's good to be bad.
The day kicks off with a holiday market from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. featuring handmade items from local artisans. Shop NorthWind's functional pottery, jewelry from Rock Candy by Helen and Deana Rose, photos, mosaics and more.
The Krampus Cafe will be serving potato pancakes, sausages from Paulina Meat Market, beer, glogg and hot cocoa.
At 4:30 p.m., a Krampus parade will march up Lincoln Avenue, terrorizing neighbors as only a mob of people led by the devil can.
An all-ages live music show closes out the fest from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
