CHICAGO — A man was fatally shot in Little Village late Friday, according to police.

Around 11 p.m., the man, who is believed to be between 16 to 20-years-old, was standing on the street in the 3600 block of West 25th Street when a man yelling gang slogans came up to him and opened fire, striking him beneath his right eye, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

Police found him dead on the scene, Pacheco said. No other information was immediately available.

Police said the victim was a documented gang member.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office did not know the victim's identity Saturday night, but thought him to be in his 20s. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:40 a.m.

No one is in custody.
