Teen Among Six People Shot Wednesday

CHICAGO — Six people, including a 16-year-old boy, were shot across the city on Wednesday.

The most recent incident happened about 9:20 p.m. in Rogers Park when a 26-year-old man was shot by someone in a passing SUV.

In Back of the Yards, two men were shot about 5:10 p.m., according to police. The men were standing on the sidewalk near 50th and Halsted streets when a gunman walked up and opened fire. A 19-year-old man was shot in his left leg, while a 21-year-old man was shot in his right leg. Both victims were taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

About 6:30 p.m., a 48-year-old man was shot in Humboldt Park in the 1300 block of North Keeler Avenue.

In North Lawndale, 16-year-old boy was shot in his shoulder and leg during a drive-by around 4 p.m., police said. The teen was standing on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of South Kolin Avenue when someone in a passing car fired several shots. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

About an hour earlier, a 34-year-old man was shot in his back in the 3600 block of West 16th Street, also in North Lawndale. According to police, the man was on the sidewalk when a gunman walked up, fired shots and ran away. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

No one was in custody for any of the shootings.
