CHICAGO — Wicker Park will be putting its own spin on Small Business Saturday by extending shopping hours and add live local music this weekend.

Some 20 businesses in the area will participate in the "Shop Small Crawl," which will give shoppers incentives to visit multiple stores around Wicker Park's main hub at Milwaukee, Damen and North avenues.

"The spotlight is meant to highlight the important role all types of independent businesses play in contributing to a community’s vitality — both day and night," organizers said in an email.

Those interested in supporting the local businesses Saturday should head to the Free Range Office at 2141 W. North Ave. to pick up their shopping passport and canvas shopping bag. Each purchase will be tracked in the shopping passport, which also gives discounts along the way. At the end of the night, those with multiple stamps on their passports will be entered into a raffle.

The fun begins at City Soles, 2001 W. North Ave. with a performance by The Lemons at 6:30 p.m. Once you've finished shopping head to Jackson Junge Gallery, 1389 N. Milwaukee, for the after-party featuring a live performance by Oshwa. Enjoy live music, light snacks and free drinks once you hand in your passport.

Among the deals being offered:

  • City Soles will follow-up The Lemons' performance at 6:30 p.m. with a wine tasting held in conjunction with a local wine shop.
  • EMMA will offer 15 percent off all purchases plus champagne and cookies.
  • Futurgarb will offer free cupcakes, mimosas and live music while you shop.
  • High Noon Saloon is offering 15 percent off your bill between 6-9 p.m.
  • Nick's Beer Garden will offer $5 Baileys and coffee or hot chocolate.
  • Pitaya will offer free snacks and gifts with purchase while supplies last.
