CHICAGO — The Smashing Pumpkins are playing a last-minute Black Wednesday show at Thalia Hall this week, the venue announced Monday.

Though the band's lineup has changed a lot over the years, frontman Billy Corgan remains and will be joined by James Iha-replacement Jeff Schroeder, Mark Stoermer of The Killers on bass and Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine on drums.

The show comes before the Dec. 9 release of the band's new album, "Monuments to an Elegy," which features Motley Crue's Tommy Lee on drums. Lee will not be joining the band on the small tour before the album's release.

Tickets to the "intimate ... one-of-a-kind" show go on sale at noon Monday, according to a release from Thalia Hall, 1807 S. Allport. The show starts at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
