CHICAGO — A 19-year-old man was shot Friday morning in South Shore.

Around 5:55 a.m., the man was in the 7700 block of South Phillips Avenue when someone shot him in his groin, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman, citing preliminary information.

The man was taken to an unknown hospital in serious condition, Estrada said.

No more information was available about the circumstances that led to the shooting, Estrada said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
