CHICAGO— A police officer was injured during a traffic stop in Roseland on Saturday night, police said.

At 9:50 p.m. the officer was conducting a traffic stop on the corner of West 112th and Halsted Street when the driver hit the gas while the officer's arm was still in the vehicle, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The officer fired shots, but no one was hit, Pacheco said.

The officer was taken to Little Company of Mary Medical Center with an injury to the wrist, and has since been released, Pacheco said.

No one is in custody for the incident.
