Man Shot in West Englewood, Woman Wounded in Humboldt Park

CHICAGO — Police said a 44-year-old man was shot in West Englewood Saturday evening.

The man told police he was standing in the 6600 block of South Marshfield Avenue when someone approached him and opened fire. The man was shot in the upper left arm, police said.

He took himself to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was in good condition.

Police had no more information.

At about 6:45 p.m., a 33-year-old woman was shot in the 3700 block of West Potomac Avenue in Humboldt Park, police said.

She was shot while in a vehicle, police said, and taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Area North detectives are investigating.
