NORTH PARK — A rerouting of the No. 82 Kimball bus begins Saturday at 6 a.m., detouring to avoid sewer work at Bryn Mawr and Kimball avenues.

The reroute is scheduled to last through mid-January, according to a spokeswoman for the Chicago Transit Authority.

Northbound buses will turn off Kimball at Foster Avenue and continue north on Kedzie/Jersey avenues before resuming their regular route at Peterson Avenue. Southbound buses will detour in the reverse order.

An unrelated street resurfacing project is also underway on Kimball between Lawrence Avenue and Bryn Mawr. The pavement has already been milled and new asphalt will be laid Tuesday or Wednesday, weather permitting, according to Pete Scales, spokesman for the Chicago Department of Transportation.

One lane of traffic will be open in each direction during the resurfacing, which is expected to take two to three days to complete, Scales said.

Parking will be prohibited during paving.
