Man Found Fatally Shot in Englewood on Safe Passage Route

CHICAGO — A man was found shot to death in a vehicle in Englewood Thursday afternoon, police said.

Around 2 p.m., police responded to a call of shots fired in the 5700 block of South Princeton Avenue, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a police spokesman.

When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old man in a vehicle. He was shot multiple times in his body, Sweeney said. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

The man was killed on a Safe Passage route for Sherwood Elementary, 245 W. 57th St.

No one is in custody, he said.
