LINCOLN SQUARE — The Polar Vortex is coming — time to eat your way to a layer of insulating fat.

Ravenswood Q has just added Sunday brunch service. The menu has plenty of old standbys like french toast and omelets, but you don't go to a BBQ joint for the eggs. Order up a serving of brisket and sweet potato hash and call it a day. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., 1800 W. Irving Park Rd.

Thai Room is back after a lengthy hiatus. Manager Ian Williamson assured DNAinfo.com that his mother-in-law Chanpen Ratana is still running the kitchen and cooking up family recipes, but the dining room's been remodeled and the menu's been updated. BYOB. 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesday to Thursday; 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday; noon to 10:30 p.m., Saturday; noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. 4022 N. Western Ave.

Half Acre is teaming up with the Sunday Dinner Club for a Monday night grilled cheese fest, Nov. 17. Tickets are on sale now for 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. seatings. Thirty bucks will get you grilled cheese, tomato soup, a chocolate chip cookie and five half-pints of any Half Acre beer on tap. 4255 N. Lincoln Ave.

Good eats don't have to cost an arm and a leg. The Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand award recognizes restaurants that deliver a high-quality dining experience at a reasonable price. A number of neighborhood joints made the 2015 list, announced this week: Browntrout, 4111 N. Lincoln Ave., Gather, 4539 N. Lincoln Ave., and Spacca Napoli, 1769 W. Sunnyside Ave.
