CHICAGO — Police have charged a Pullman man with murder after the body of a 53-year-old man was discovered Wednesday evening.

Police conducted to a well-being check in the 600 block of East 111th Street about 5 p.m. Wednesday and found the body of a man who appeared to be stabbed, said Officer Beri Lemmon, a police spokeswoman.

Thomas Sanchez Jr., 53, of the 11200 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue, suffered a fatal stab wound, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said. An autopsy determined he died of a stab wound to the right side of his neck.

He was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:05 p.m., the Medical Examiner's Office said.

Sanchez's body was found in the home of Christian Williams, 48, authorities said. Williams is charged with first-degree murder and due to appear in court Saturday.

Williams was found guilty of murder in 1993 and sentenced to 30 years, court records said. He was released on parole in March of 2013.
