CHICAGO — Police are warning Austin residents of a recent rash of robberies in the neighborhood.

In the robberies, several men approached victims and used force to take items from them, according to a community alert issued Wednesday.

The robberies occurred in the 700 block of North LeClaire Avenue at 10:30 a.m. Monday, in the 900 block of North Laramie Avenue at 6:20 a.m. Oct. 19 and in the 600 block of North Lamon Avenue at 6:40 p.m. Oct. 17.

Police advise people to remain calm if confronted and to remember any identifying characteristics. Anyone with information is asked to call 312-744-8263.
