CHICAGO — The driver of a stolen semi-truck who critically injured a cyclist in a hit-and-run incident earlier this month in McKinley Park has been charged with two felonies.

Jason Popko, 31, of the 2700 block of West Harrison Street, was allegedly driving a stolen semi-truck when he hit a cyclist in the 3600 block of South Ashland Avenune about 4:25 p.m. on Oct. 7

The 47-year-old cyclist was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

After Popko hit the cyclist, he drove away, police said. The Lawndale man was charged with one count of possessing a stolen vehicle and one count of failure to report an accident, police said.

Popko is due to appear in court Saturday.
