JEFFERSON PARK — Residents of the Far Northwest Side desperate to pick up some fresh produce have one last chance to get their hands on some organic squash as farmers markets wrap up their seasons.

The Jefferson Park Sunday Market will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Park, 4822 N. Long Ave.

The Sunday market typically features crafters and food trucks in addition to fruits and vegetables.

Admission is free. For more information, email jeffersonparksundaymarket@zoho.com.

The Portage Park Farmers Market had expected to wrap up its season on Oct. 5, but added an additional market for Sunday to participate in the Chicago Park District's pumpkin patch event.

From 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., locally grown produce, specialty items, coffee, ready-to-eat food, music, a petting zoo, inflatables, face painting and carving pumpkins will be available in Portage Park near Irving Park Road and Long Avenue.

The Belmont Cragin Farmers Market will also have its last market of the season from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at 5446 W. Belmont Ave.
