EDGEWATER — Syed Ahmed wants to do your errands. Literally.

His new Edgewater start-up's slogan: "We run your errands. We drive around to buy and bring or go drop off your stuff."

That's the idea behind BringDrop, said Ahmed, who launched his business this week with the intention of making life a little easier for his busy neighbors.

"It's ... about having a person to handle all your errands for you," the 27-year-old Edgewater resident said. "We're all about pooling all the people in the neighborhood to create these efficiencies and conveniences."

Ben Woodard says the service is very local now, and completely phone-based:

He said he got his idea after thinking about the thousands of people in Edgewater who travel to the grocery store every week.

Why not have a team of people make the trip for the would-be shoppers? So BringDrop was born.

But the service provides more than just grocery delivery. They'll bring you anything from dry cleaning to a takeout order from your favorite restaurant.

Ahmed said he hasn't had a paying customer yet, but believes people will soon catch on.

"I think people will really use it during bad weather because people will really not want to go out," he said.

BringDrop charges $1 per mile and $2 for every stop made on a customer's errand run.

If successful, he plans to expand south from Edgewater, said the former Loyola University student, "one neighborhood at a time."
