ANDERSONVILLE — If you’re looking to cut sugar from your diet, some words of advice: Wait until Monday to start.

That’s because Andersonville’s 8th annual dessert crawl takes over the neighborhood Sunday from 2-5 p.m.

Crawlers can choose between two $20 routes — Candy Corn or Caramel Apple. Both routes include 12 stops at nearby restaurants.

M Henry, which is along the Caramel Apple route, will be serving lemon cream pie and a gluten-free chocolate mousse cake among other treats, owner Michael Moorman said.

Moorman, whose restaurant has participated in the event every year since its inception, said the dessert crawl brings in a lot of locals who might not otherwise have come in.

The dessert crawl proves the neighborhood "has a lot to offer besides big chain stores," Moorman said. "It has a small town, home grown feeling in the middle of the city."

Andersonville Chamber of Commerce spokeswoman Jessica Hammer said 250 tickets are being sold for each route this year.

Along the Candy Corn route, crawlers can indulge in fruit cobbler from Hamburger Mary’s, bread pudding with whiskey sauce from Jerry’s, Jeni’s Splendid ice creams at Urban Orchard and peanut butter whoopee pies from The Wooden Spoon, among others.

The Caramel Apple Route offers up wild cherry mousse and bread pudding from Fireside Restaurant, apple cranberry streusel pie bites from First Slice, pomegranate cheesecake from Andies Restaurant and Swedish rice pudding from Svea Restaurant.
