WICKER PARK —  The owner of a Wicker Park body piercing salon says there is already a waiting list to get  gold tooth coverings and diamond inlays, which were introduced to customers earlier this month.

The process, which can take a few weeks, starts with a mold to get an accurate impression for a full grill or a gold cap, said Molly Bennett, co-owner of Identity Body Piercing at 1514 N. Ashland Ave.

Prices start at $100 per tooth depending on the material, Bennett said.

"Here's a detailed picture of the first single tooth custom grill we got done! Genuine gold with genuine diamond inlay," Bennett posted on Instagram on Sunday.

Elsewhere in the neighborhood, the winning pie in the Bucktown Apple Pie Contest, which drew 117 contestants to the Holstein Park Field House on Sunday, was a team effort.

Bucktown resident Cindy Johnson said "little hands helping was the secret" to her pie, called "Yum Yum Gimme Some Apple Pie" made by Johnson with the help of six children from three different families on her block.
